Welcome And Sports Week Highs
SPEAKER_01Yo yo yo welcome back to another episode of the Epic Podcast. It's me and Jared in here today. Uh don't know if Justin or anybody else will join us, but we shall see. Uh how's your sports week been, man?
SPEAKER_02Well, actually tragic, man. The Reds just turned for the worst. Like they their flaws are finally starting to show. See, that's why I'm not big on wins and losses. Because obviously you gotta win and make the playoffs and you gotta win to win a championship. But I like look beyond that because like even now, our record we lost for a straight record is 20 and 15. That's actually pretty it's still one of the best records in the league. I'm about to say that's still, yeah. Like I it's probably I think everybody still has double-digit losses. Like I think, yeah, I'm pretty sure everybody has at least 10 losses. So to be five games out of the best record in the league is is pretty good. But Batten average is is dead last. Uh running scoring position average is terrible. Um our closer has a 6.4 or something ERA, something crazy like that. So like the team has really been buns.
unknownUh-huh.
SPEAKER_02How we're able to how we've been able to kind of stay you know ahead of the game, I don't know, but it's starting to unravel. We finally went on our first like divisional road trip and we getting cooked. So yeah, it's work the the week has been pretty. I'm just hoping we can get him. That is insane how he got a double out of that. That's ridiculous. But yeah, man, so pretty much just been the Reds, them getting slid. So my bait, my sports week has been pretty, pretty, pretty trash for the most part. How about yours?
SPEAKER_01I mean, same old, same old man. Shoot, even worse than yours, because I mean, you know, of course, after Boston fired their coach, or their whole coaching staff, um, we won a couple games, but after that, we went right back to being ourselves. So hate to see it. Yeah, I I don't I don't know. I don't know what the future holds for us. Uh but it is what it is. Um yeah, so I've just been enjoying basketball, man. Some great first round of games. Uh a lot of teams come back from 3-1 to make it a series. It wasn't a lot of blowouts or sweeps. I think we only had two sweeps. Uh so I I can live with that, man. Most ratings, uh, highest ratings in uh playoffs since I think they said 98.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, playoffs have been quite. Oh, he's out. Sorry, my bad.
SPEAKER_01No, no, you good. Playoffs have been real good. So uh that's all I can ask for right now this time of year. WNBA about to start up. I I can't ask for nothing more.
SPEAKER_02So I think this time of year my attention span always improves because it's not 12 NBA games on or nothing crazy.
SPEAKER_01So that's fair.
NFL Updates And Replacement Refs
SPEAKER_02It's only two a night maximum, so I I can I can deal with that. I feel like I can lock in more because I ain't got too many options. So that is very fair. I like this time of year. Stuff slowed down.
SPEAKER_01So Yeah, we got like what three months until college football. So end of July.
SPEAKER_02Nah, end of August. August.
SPEAKER_01Well, no, no, it's just season. Just college football period, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it starts in September, the first week of September.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so yeah, so I mean, yeah, no, I'm with you on that. Like this this time of year things is slowing down, so I'm not mad at it either. Um, and we're about to go on our hiatus, so once the NBA playoffs end, what beginning of June, we'll be taking our hiatus until the NFL starts back up. So uh but with that being said, man, we're gonna start off today with a little bit of a little M NFL news. Um so right now they just reporting uh Patrick Mahomes is ahead of schedule. Of course. Of course, of course. So he's he's he's on pace to be back beginning of the season, along with I guess everybody else who toured ACLs, uh him, Daniel Jones, uh a couple other guys too. So everybody's healing miraculously fast. Um also uh replacement refs is a big possibility this year. So the NFL um vote on a new CBA uh is scheduled for Thursday, I believe. Yeah. And they got a contingency plan if uh things don't go right. Um that they're starting to train, they started training replacement refs from like the Lower Division NCAA um games, starting to train them May 1st for replacements possibility in the NFL if the collector and bargain agreement don't go through. Uh, how do you feel about that, man? Do you think that'll affect the game a lot? Yeah, it was a shit show last time.
SPEAKER_02Um they couldn't.
SPEAKER_01Uh 2012 was the last time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that shit was that shit was wild. Um, I mean, hey, if you ain't gonna come to work, you gotta be replaced. So I mean, I don't really feel no no no way about it for real. I mean, you know, you you you gotta come to work in order to get paid and to keep it going. If they can't agree on nothing, that's something that they're gonna have to figure out. Uh, but I think the world's a better place with the normal refs. So I hope hopefully they get it done. But you know, hey, they can't be watching football regardless.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, yeah, it's not gonna stop anything as far as us watching. We're always gonna watch. So, but uh, I just thought that was interesting. Um, so they talking about onboarding the refs starting June, uh so first June 1st, I should say. So, yeah, that I think is gonna have a huge impact. I mean, the refs now already have like a big impact on games, um, to where they've been refining the replays and uh correcting calls you know quickly from New York and things of that nature. They've been working on that for the past like two seasons. So hopefully that gets better along with if we have replacement refs, but I just think refing and officiating in the NFL just has to uh continue to get better and continue to keep up with the be able to keep up with the game, like technology and things. Um I know human era.
SPEAKER_02I do see that they just scheduled a uh a vote for it though, so they might end up, you know what I'm saying, taking it and pausing, you know, being back. But I mean, we'll see. I ain't hey, I'm gonna be watching football with or without them. So, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but like I just know, like, I just know like now, like it's always a handful of games that decided by a ref making a bad call in a crucial situation, and it's just like even with a replay, they don't overturn it. It's like the whole, like, the whole stadium's mad, like everybody's watching is just mad and complaining. So it's like I just hope that officiation all the way around, like, um, just continue to grow and be able to keep up with the game. Cause ain't nothing worse than bad refing. I mean, MLB has gotten it better, basketball, NBA is trying to get it better. Um, so hopefully the NFL don't just rest on their morals and continue to try to grow the refs and make them a full-time employee so we don't even have to go through this. Right.
SPEAKER_02They are full-time employees, aren't they?
SPEAKER_01No, they're not. Nope. What you mean by that? They don't like they have other jobs, like outside of the NFL. Yes. You fact check that lately?
SPEAKER_02I I am about they make enough money to not have another job.
SPEAKER_01I mean, probably, but like making them actual employees so they're not a part of the bargain agreement. Like they can have in the offseason, they can be in, you can be training, you know what I mean, doing, you know, I mean, training refs and stuff like that. They don't do that. Like they literally, all of us third party, and they live, I mean, they you know, they pay them, they schedule them for their games and pay them for their games, and when the season's over, that's it.
SPEAKER_02That's crazy. Yeah, I definitely.
SPEAKER_01I don't I don't understand why you don't have refs that's just a part of the NFL, like like employees of the NFL.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it says that while they are part-time, but they're averaging over$325,000 a year. So it's just like ineligible for the retirement plans, or it's just like I'm not talking about I mean, I ain't talking about the money far as money.
SPEAKER_01I'm talking about far as like quality. Like, you're not there's no there's no way to train them. I get I'm I'm I'm just saying I just don't understand why they're not a part of the NFL, especially if you're paying them that amount of money anyway. That's the way that's they probably don't want to be.
SPEAKER_02Usually entities that have their own separate like unions and all that, they don't want to be a part of the NFL, because I guess they lose leverage. I I guess because like if you go and ask any any job that has like union associates, for example, um my uncle used to work for Canagra, so they have a union. If you ask them people, do they want to give up their union and just be you know fully under the brand, they will be like, hell no. They want a union because that's something that they it's like leverage, you know. You can't just I mean you can be fired, but the job is gonna have to, you know, you have some arbitration. You know, the union's gonna you're gonna have to speak to the union and you it's gonna be a back and forth about why they were fired, what we can do, instead of you know, so they like having that. So I don't think the I don't necessarily think the referees want to be full-time, but you never know. All I know is if I'm getting paid 325,000 over 20 weeks, I ain't doing nothing else. Yeah, I'm full-time, part-time my ass. No, I I agree with that. I ain't answering nobody else. Fuck that.
SPEAKER_01Um, and last thing we got NFL is um the schedule. NFL schedule could be delayed. It says about a week or so. Um, first off, because of media right negotiations. So I guess they're still trying to work out basically because uh YouTube, Netflix, and I know they're gonna have some games in different countries. So getting times to match up with when people are awake in the US so they can watch um uh like a week one game. I think they're trying to do it in Australia. Yeah, uh the second Black Friday game and then Christmas Eve game. Um so they're trying to get that approved and signed off on so they can release the schedule. Man, I they're gonna pay. You know how the NFL is, they're all about dollars. Uh, but we do have the kickoff game, which is Seattle and uh Bears. Is it the Bears? Uh September 9th.
SPEAKER_02I was reading something saying that uh Wilbon like kind of uh leaked it.
WNBA Retirement And New Fines
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. But I mean it I don't think it's been confirmed yet, but it just says Seattle will host the open season opener, of course, but it didn't say who yet. Um it's supposed to be nine international games. Um and like I said, the game in Australia, uh that's probably what's holding it up. The Niners Ram game is supposed to be in Australia. So and of course the Super Bowl this year is at Sofa again. So um, yeah. Oh, international games. I just seen them. Baltimore, Dallas Cowboys, and Brazil. You got Atlanta Falcons supposed to be playing in Spain. Damn say who they're playing against yet. Detroit, Lions, and Germany, and the Saints are supposed to be playing their friends. So that's all we got right now, as far as uh what we know about the schedule. So far as NFL news. Um that being said, we're gonna jump over to WNBA real quick. Uh Tina Charles finally retires. She um all-time leading scorer and rebounds, or not scorer and rebounds, all-time leading rebounder in WNBA history. Uh, she retires averaging 17 points, well damn near 18 points a game, nine rebounds, two assists, uh, a steal, a block, 45% from the field. Like, really good player. Um, and she played for I want to say like 20 seasons.
SPEAKER_02Damn, that's a long time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Uh definitely won the greats. Um, WNBA are increasing fines. We were just talking about this for fouls and technicals. So uh this season fouls one through three technical fouls are five hundred dollars each, four through seven are a thousand dollars each, and if you get eight plus technical fouls, they're fifteen hundred each, plus a one-game suspension for every other technical foul after the eighth. So nine, you'll have to pay that fine plus the um plus the fee. Uh play the fine plus the the suspension. And then in the playoffs, uh the fines are uh looks the same. Oh no, 500 for first and second, thousand for the third, and fifteen hundred after the fourth, as far as uh technical fouls. Okay, and then they're also raising for the flops too. So this season the first one is a warning, the second one is a hundred, third, two hundred, fourth, three hundred, fifth, four hundred, and I think it just goes up from there. And fragrant fouls, the first one is 500, and the second one is uh a thousand. So it's two and a half times. They went up two and a half times on the price of all the technical fouls, granted, because the girls are making more money, the women are making more money soon.
SPEAKER_02So I figured that was gonna happen.
SPEAKER_01Makes makes sense. So, and they got the aces favorite to win the title again, and of course, Asia Winsling to win MVP again. Um, I don't agree with that. The league is all the way back healthy. Um, I mean, you still got Paige, you still got uh Caitlyn, you got I mean, there's a lot, I mean, if everybody stays relatively healthy, it's definitely gonna be a lot more competition. And if the especially the fever, if we made it to the uh Eastern Conference Finals, you know, no, we made it to the finals. Mm-mm. Did we not?
SPEAKER_02So who who played in the it was the uh it was Phoenix and um Deces. Huh. Because you know they don't do that Eastern Conference.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay, yeah, yeah, that's right. That's right. That's right. Alright. So we made it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
SPEAKER_02So without say Phoenix had got swept though, which is crazy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think so.
SPEAKER_02You know what I'm saying? Fever could have been in there and yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But uh definitely they uh Yeah, I think I think if Caitlin stayed healthy, I think we can make a better run. I mean, this year, possibly make it to the finals. So I don't agree that they're gonna win it again, you know, pending health.
SPEAKER_02I'm rooting for him. That's the only Indiana team that I'm like like fully behind for sure. So that's that's definitely the squad. I just gravitate towards the hated. And granted, um, Caitlin Clark has a lot of supporters. I just feel like a lot of hate. Yeah, yeah. I I I ain't even gonna necessarily say she was hated more than she was loved. I think the hate was just a little louder, like the way they were treating her, that shit was so corny. That was so much.
SPEAKER_01I don't think it's like their peers, like the other WNBA players, like you see it on the court.
SPEAKER_02Bro, that shit was so corny. That shit was corny, and obviously got hella love for Asia, uh not Asia, but uh Angel uh Angel Reese. Yeah, Angel Reese. Hella love for her, you know what I'm saying? I'm supporting her too, but all them little shenanigans with granted, I don't know if I saw a lot of it like, well, Caitlin was hurt. Hopefully everybody just chill out, like being the only person that's being picked up 94 feet, like it was just corny. Like all that was corny. Hopefully everybody's gotten over that to where, you know, we can just play ball and and keep it moving. But yeah, that was some of the corniest stuff that I've I've ever witnessed. And like, and I I don't know if it was because you know, it was the first time seeing females like feel a certain way in the sports world. I don't know if that was what was different, but it was corny. Hopefully, everybody's moving on.
NBA Playoffs Takeaways And Matchups
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. No, I agree with that too. Like, if you just went Caitlin's healthy, and it ain't just when they played the Chicago Sky, it was just anybody, like they, like you said, picking her up half court, which alright, cool, that's a tactic. But like the picks they would set on her, like, like it was just crazy. Like, she goes for shots, like pushing her, like it was just it was madness.
SPEAKER_02Like, they were just clearly mad, and it was crazy, bro. It was corny. Like, it was so corny.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. No, I agree. Uh, so again, should be some more, a little more competition this year. Hopefully, everybody stays healthy, and so on and so forth.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01Moving right along. Man, we are moving. Like, we're barely 20 minutes in. We are. It really ain't. It really ain't. It really ain't. I'm with it. Uh, so of course, playoffs, NBA playoffs right now. Uh, I mean, hey, Knicks looked dominant the other night, man. What do you think about the Knicks?
SPEAKER_02Man, Knicks been putting belt. They last two games, shit, they probably won by a combined goddamn 90 points, something crazy. Because they beat the shit out of Philly last night, and then the last game at Atlanta Hawks series was probably the worst NBA game I've ever ever seen. So, like, they don't their last two games are for sure probably the biggest two like margins of victory, probably in NBA history, because it is it's crazy. So hey, they look together. I I don't know how with that coach of theirs, but they're man, I ain't mad at it.
SPEAKER_01I mean, shoot, they beat them by they beat him the Sixers by 39. I mean, shoot, Bronson had 37. He had 20 at the 35, he had 27 in the first half, 12 or 18 shootings. He probably didn't even play that much in the second half. They shot 63% from the field and 51% from three-point. Like, crazy. And Paul George, well, he led Philly with 17. Joel Embiid only had 14. He was a 3411, which I just don't foresee that happening again. So hopefully the Knicks don't do what they normally do is come out fast, and slow, lose the series. Like, I just hope not.
SPEAKER_02Um, because I saw some I saw some good things out of Philly, man. They actually got a squad, bro.
SPEAKER_01They've been hooping. Like with Joanna B being back and they can't like double maxi and Paul George doing his part. Like, we're in chat talking about it. Like, they they definitely can make a run.
SPEAKER_02If we can just get a solid 20 ball from because they got they got guys capable. If you can get 20 out of Edcom, 20 out of PG, you know you're getting 20 out of MB, 20 out of maxi, that's doable. That's doable. And if you can get that from them guys, you can win, you can be.
SPEAKER_01And they all play decent defense, too. So Paul George plays decent defense, VJ plays and be, like, even maxi for his size, hustles. You know what I mean? On defense. So it's like they they have the tools to win. You see what they did to Boston. Like, they have the tools, you know what I mean? And I don't even think Tatum would have made that big of a difference. Like the way they were playing, I they just got out physical, and I just think they need to play that way with the Knicks the next game. So, I mean, granted, they lost by 39, but like that game is over with. That's one thing about the playoffs. That game don't even matter no more.
SPEAKER_02All you gotta do is get game two, and guess what? You can put advantage.
SPEAKER_01That's it. You know what I mean? You need one going back to Philly, you know what I mean? So I um yeah. No, I'm definitely not sold on the Knicks just because of, again, what we've seen and how they've played in the past. I don't know if I can say this is a different Knicks team, but this is definitely a different Philadelphia team. You know, apart from that game one. So I'm definitely looking forward to tomorrow and seeing how that game goes tomorrow. So yeah. Wemby making history, man. What do you think about that? Hey, we need a lot of things. Most blocks in a game.
SPEAKER_02No way in hell they should have lost that game last night. So congratulations on the history, but we need more than 11 points, bro. I don't care if you guys say you can't put up 11. Yeah, we need more. So yeah, hopefully he gets that figured out. But you know you know, of course, you and I are like, we're we're not haters, so we like to see just people do their thing. Like, you know, it's not a good thing. Yeah, no, for sure. I don't like him. If you can hoop, I'm gonna watch. I'm tapping in. So I want to see him do well. We need more than 11 points. Like you you gotta yeah, you gotta give more than that. So hopefully he comes back and and and and does a you know, does a better job. Granted, I mean he played a complete game because like you can't discount the rebounds and the blocks, but yeah, you're gonna need more than 11. There, you shouldn't have lost that game. Like that's a game that you drop.
SPEAKER_01And I can see if your other guys, you know what I mean, because they have a bunch of guys. So I can see if Castle and Harper and all those other guys was picking up the score and you know what I mean? Like, and you didn't have you you got 11 because you didn't have to score more than that and got one. You know what I mean? You just took care of you know the rebounding block. Yeah, that's a problem. Now, if you exactly, exactly, especially when you uh two, but we need more, especially when you're in MVP contention, you know what I mean? Like yeah, but also on the other end, you also got Rudy Gobert, who has been playing phenomenal defense this this this playoffs, like against you know, Dominic Biggs, like even against Jokic, even though Jokic did have a couple breakout games, like his defense on Jokic probably changed the the trajectory of that series, like um, and of course, a lot of the other like Murray and them just was having some on and off games in Gordon, but maybe Rudy against uh Wimby, you know, is a little more comp than Wimby's used to. You know what I mean? Somebody that's close to his height, close to his wingspan, uh, you know, defensive-minded, I guess, in that same sense. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01It ain't somebody, you know what I mean? You're not going up against 6'11, 6'10, you know what I mean? People that you can kind of like do your thing over. Like, you gotta work a little harder, so maybe that's maybe that's the key. And then again, like, like, how is Edwards playing, bro? I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Somebody told me he was he was I was like, what?
SPEAKER_01Bruh. That's crazy. Like, if like watching the video back, like from like that, like I said, I don't see how he walked off the court. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? To walk off the court like in nine days to be back, like, yeah. And scored 18 off the bench.
SPEAKER_02Like huge three over Wimby down the street.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. Like, yeah, so um, that's definitely gonna be an interesting series. I mean, a lot of people had the Spurs, you know, in the finals coming out the West, possibly. Like, you know what I mean? If they had to choose between OKC and the Spurs, like a lot of people was going, it could be either one, just because the way they played each other in the season, especially in the uh NBA Cup, like they've had a lot of good uh games against each other. So either one of them can come out, but they're gonna- I mean the Spurs are gonna have to put up a way better effort because Timberwolves is hungry. Like, like, I don't know where all this is coming from, but they're showing a different side of themselves.
SPEAKER_02That's a fact for sure. They're definitely a scrappy team, so man.
Boxing Missed Alerts And MLB Frustrations
SPEAKER_01And it's like it's like Edwards, you kind of see him turning that corner into a leader of the franchise. You know what I mean? Not just playing out of his mind, but you see him talking to guys on the sideline, you know what I mean? Like, even his press conferences now are like more you know, leader ish, if that's a thing. Leaderish is crazy, but you know what I mean? Like, you can just hear it and see it in his body language and things. It's like he's like kind of like embracing the fact like this is my team and it goes as I go. And like, like I said, again, to be back on the court like anybody else would have at least missed one or two games of this series, you know what I mean? Uh just because you know that they they can't sweep us in two games, you know what I mean? And it gives you the possibility to come back and uh compete again, but he's like, nah, fuck that, I'm coming back game one, and I'm taking game one. So um this is definitely gonna be probably one of the best. All these series is gonna be good. Uh hopefully the Lakers can put up a fight against you know the Thunder, because the Thunder just dumped them all season. So hopefully they've learned from that and can get out there and make it a good series. Even if they lose, if it goes seven, you know what I mean, and it's competitive. I would like that. Um, because all these matchups are good in the West and the East, like all of them are good. So I'm I'm really excited for the NBA right now. Um you said we got the Cavs and Pistons right now uh playing, and the Lakers probably just tipped off about 14 minutes ago. So um I think that's gonna be started.
SPEAKER_02It's only 30 minutes, 30 seconds into the game.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, okay, cool. So um with that being said, man, that's that's really all I got. That's all I got right now, man.
SPEAKER_02Hey, I want to defund uh Justin for not letting us know about the uh Yeah about the fight. Yeah, I was just I was in the bed. Oh maybe I wouldn't I don't know if I heard about it last the next morning. I Benavita's beat somebody. I'm like, damn, where's our uh resident uh boxing expert? He ain't said a word.
SPEAKER_01Well, you gotta remember too, he wasn't on the show last week either.
SPEAKER_02Hey, bro, he's been texting me to on the side for certain stuff. Oh, okay, okay. Okay, seven nut later. Damn. We needed that shit. Yeah, deep on the Reds too. Get them the fuck out of here. Like, we just have a team full of guys that that can't do everything. Like, we have I feel like if you're a major league, you should have every team in the major league should have their it's only eight guys position players starters. It's only eight guys. You got three outfielders, you got four infielders and a catcher. I feel like every team should have those eight guys that are decent at uh their positions. We got a lot of guys that can't hit right-handed pitchers, uh pitching, guys that can't hit left-handed pitching, guys that can hit can't throw, guys that can play the field but can't hit. It's just like, man, like gotta be able to find eight players that can, and I ain't saying that you gotta be great at everything, but I mean we got guys that can like we have, for example, Key Bryant Hayes, he's our starting third baseman, awesome in the field, gold glove candidate batting a smooth 100. Like, come on, bro. That's 100. And it's uh 35 games to the season.
unknownUh-huh.
SPEAKER_02Batting 100. Like, you just 10% for the people who don't understand.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, that's not bad. You want to leave everything anywhere from 25, yeah. If I say 25, 250 to 3, like, that's usually like the average. Like, that's good batting for a season.
SPEAKER_02So Yeah, we could work with that. But 100, I think he's batting like 111. It's just like, bro, that's that's not gonna work.
SPEAKER_01And that's one hit every four at bats. No, well, I'm just talking about the bat to bat uh 250. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? That's one every that's one every four and to you know, three out of ten to get you in the hall of fame. I'll just put it like that.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Three out of ten. Oh yeah, you that dude for sure.
New Trucking Job And Life Update
SPEAKER_01You ain't gotta be a million. You ain't gotta have a million home runs either. If you could bet, if you can get three hits out of ten at bats, you'll be in the hall of fame. No matter how many home runs you hit. You can hit ten home runs for your career. You're gonna have about four thousand. That's what I said. That's what I said. You do that for 15 years at a what, 162.
SPEAKER_02You named her the best in the game.
SPEAKER_01I'm just saying, like for fifty, I mean, like, you look like somebody like Ichiro or somebody, you know what I mean, who like was right there, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Like Tony Queen.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 3,000 hits, like something ridiculous. So, nah, for sure. Uh, but I'm with you with that. Like, we ain't got nothing going, man. We have no motion in Boston right now. So I'm I just check the scores out. We lost. I don't I don't even tune in no more until something changed. I just check the scores. Oh, we lost. Okay, cool. I'll look through the stats real quick. We ain't got nobody showing out, all right. Ain't nobody, you know what I mean? Like, no potential there. Um I keep it moving. But um, I do have some news though.
SPEAKER_02What's that?
SPEAKER_01I just I just uh got my first trucking job.
SPEAKER_02Congratulations on that, fam. What'd it look like?
SPEAKER_01Uh so I'm gonna start with Swift, man. Uh, because I got my license like a year ago. I remember that March of last year. But I didn't really need them, you know what I mean? Like, yeah, but now like uh like the state's playing with the money, man, as far as caregivers and stuff. So my job is like, look, they not giving us the hours, you know what I mean? So we can't, you know what I mean? So I'm like, look, you know, famous and road. Nah, nah. Uh so I got like six weeks of training I gotta do. And just because, like I said, I haven't drove since I took my test and got my license. So I gotta do four to six weeks of training. Um, I actually go to Columbus, Ohio Sunday, and then I stay overnight and I got orientation Monday. Um and then I'll learn my schedule, my training schedule, who I'll be training with, all that. And then uh, yeah, six weeks of six to four weeks of training, and then I'll be local. Uh I think I'll be out of Chevyville though. So but it's like a little Kroger route, I guess they got that, you know, it is what it is. So I just tell I was like, when I was looking, I was just looking for local. I was like, I gotta stay, I can't be gone all day. You know what I mean? I gotta be home every night.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um to help Shavine, you know, with the house and stuff. I can't be gone for three or four days, then come home for two, and then gone four, and then come home one, and like I can't be doing a lot of not with my uncle, like, you know what I mean? Like, if he wasn't here, then should yeah, I'd be doing something regional and making the big books, but I just need you know, some some supplement right now to to make it work around here. So I got it. And I can get some experience, so like you know what I mean, when I do you know expand my career, then I already have the experience.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's important for sure. That's definitely important.
SPEAKER_01No question. Yeah, yeah, no, man. When I first start thinking about it, I was talking to him and Thomas. I don't know if you know Thomas, but uh talking in them too, because I'm them the two people I know closer to me that drive. Uh yeah, just who's good companies and stuff like that. So but yeah, no, definitely that. But I really want to get on this Amazon route, and I applied for it and they called me back for an interview, but I didn't have they won't have three months of experience. I'm like, but it was two days a week, but it was 12 hour days. Uh-huh. And you can pick when you start your day. So you can start at noon, four, or eight. Okay. Um, and it's two days a week. I was like, that'd be lovely. You know what I mean? Yeah, that'd be so good. And just knock knock my two days out, get my driving in and be done. You know what I mean? So I'll probably be at Swift for, you know what I mean, a couple months, and then if that job is still available, I'll probably just switch over.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01Once I get enough experience.
SPEAKER_02So makes sense.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, man, you're the first person I think that knows. The world does know now. If anybody's listening. But that's all I got, man. We we did our defunds. Uh I guess I guess that's it, man. I guess we go watch these games, man. Yes, sir. This has been the epic podcast, man. We will see y'all next week. Peace out. Got like five lives at the end.
