Speaker 2:

This is how it always be. Before the show Normally we get in here earlier and then we talk about everything.

Speaker 1:

This is how it always be before the show Yo yo yo.

Speaker 2:

Welcome back to another episode of the Epic Podcast. We are in the house again with familiar and one unfamiliar face Familiar to us maybe not to y'all, but we got my man, ite Jared, and then we got David Lewis, jared's brother's, in here with us today. Man, he reached out and said look, man, I got something to say.

Speaker 4:

I want to be the fourth, so I was like all right, man, we're going to get in here, man, let's see what you're talking about.

Speaker 2:

But how was your weekend, man? How did your sports weekend? Let's start with you. Let's start with David man. How was your sports weekend, man?

Speaker 5:

I mean it's been born. I mean really actually no.

Speaker 5:

Now I actually tell you the truth, it's actually been relaxing. Then the couple of last two years the bingles have been we've made the Super Bowl playoffs, but when your team is not in it you're mad. But then at the end of the day you can live another day, you can breathe, you can just sit back and just watch the team lose. And now you're thinking. You are sitting there thinking like, well, I wish that was us. But the fact that you can just get up on Sunday and just sit back and just watch, and now really be watching Red Vest yeah that makes sense.

Speaker 2:

What about you, Jared? I guess you pretty much in the same boat.

Speaker 3:

Bro it's been saying. He took the words right out of my mouth like pause, I'm chilling Like nigga can just wake up watch the games. And then I mean it helps that I don't have anybody in it that I'm rooting against. Well, I'm not that type of guy, so there ain't too many teams that I'm rooting against. Obviously, I rooted against Michigan because their fans are crazy Like they just like they act like football has only been alive three years, like they're going nuts. So I was hoping that they lost.

Speaker 5:

But I don't see a lot of you see. You see a lot of Michigan gear too.

Speaker 3:

Man, this is random. I was watching the Dallas. You never knew when.

Speaker 2:

Michigan fails now of a sudden, just popping out with all this blue.

Speaker 5:

They bring it, they bringing them hats back out from 1997, man, so they had to wear.

Speaker 3:

I was watching the Mavericks in the Celtics last night. Ganglars and Dallas dude just sitting base now with Michigan hat on like really what about?

Speaker 2:

what about you? Like man, you, the only one got anything going on. Really Right Keen in on 49ers.

Speaker 4:

Look, man, we want like. What else am I supposed to say? We'll get into this a little bit later. I mean, I'm also an average gambler. So you know I always got something going. Even when I ain't got something going, I got stuff going on tonight. But you know I'm going to take any dub that we can get, especially at this point in season, and then we'll keep moving.

Speaker 2:

Okay, okay, all right. Well, shoot, let's jump into it. Then I got a bounce for a minute, so we're going to switch over to us three real quick man, and we're going to. Yes, First thing is first man we got to. We got to talk about the bucks. This just recently happened, getting rid of that coach for some odd reason. They were second in the East. They own 43 games at 30 and 13. From what I read, I doubted a little bit more into it. They said defensive walls, with them going from being like top five in the league and defense last year to like being bottom 20. So I don't know. Plus, they said they're eyeing Doc Rivers. Doc Rivers, yes, so I was. I'm like you know, was it a setup or is just using this as excuse because they won't die, rivers? I think.

Speaker 3:

I personally think something happened. I think he said something, something behind closed doors, because, bro, you don't fire. No, coach, that's 30 and 13. I don't care.

Speaker 2:

I have not bad to defense we win, you don't, you don't do that.

Speaker 3:

And then you got to figure, I think, for those losses come to the Pacers, so like if you split, say, say, they win two of those games that they lost. They were 32 and 11.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Like, come on, man, you don't something had to happen either. Like had to go off on somebody and shout out to them for for not letting that information out. But nah, this wasn't. There's no way that this is performance based. Like, like you said, I don't care how bad the defense is. There's no way you fire a coach. That's like firing a coach. That's like 12 and three in the NFL. You don't do that.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. I kind of found the news. Yeah, I found the news when I was at the gym and I looked. I had a double look at it Like huh. Yeah, but yeah, I agree with you. I think something happened. I mean, it looked like he's the type of coach that don't take no junk either.

Speaker 2:

He don't get on me.

Speaker 5:

So something, something. Either you know he wanted something different, or maybe you know trade. You know the trade, that line is coming up. He thought he wanted maybe a player that he didn't want anymore. He wanted to change something up, something. Yeah, something definitely might have happened in the behind scene.

Speaker 3:

It sounds like it was like a you know what I'm saying they having a conversation and then fuck you. Nah, fuck you.

Speaker 2:

That's what it sounds like happened, Like I wouldn't even put it back and to do the move, Like you said, right before the trade deadline also a break Like it gives you time to like why that break is going on to kind of find somebody else, or you know man, please take Doc Rivers.

Speaker 3:

I'm so tired of hearing him on the game.

Speaker 2:

I've seen that on Instagram. You say that I'm tired.

Speaker 3:

And that's just like Tennessee Titans getting our offensive coordinator. Please take him, yeah, please take him.

Speaker 2:

That was kind of I too, I mean, but when you got in the hand, I know what they saw. When you got? You got Bill Billichick, you got Pete Carroll, you got all these.

Speaker 3:

She probably costs nothing. Yeah, they building that stadium, let's just like, yeah, let's just go ahead and get a, get a dumber in here real quick, cause they that was kind of weird. They certainly have a Dumbo. So they probably was like, let me just get an idiot, just somebody cheat, in here these next couple years. But nah, bro, they can have it. I was praying, it was fine.

Speaker 2:

But Doc Rivers, though, like he hasn't won since the Celtics. I mean championship, I mean he's teams are always been in contention but never over the hump into already having my Milwaukee team who's won, you know, in the past five years. Like you bring Doc in to do what I mean, yeah, he may help you defensively, but he's not, he's he hasn't been that coach has really got teams over the hump.

Speaker 5:

So I'm still. I'm still over the boom Fire. That was crazy too, yeah. That right there that never should have fired buddy.

Speaker 3:

Never should have fired him.

Speaker 5:

It may that one, and then Toronto's coach Nick nurse.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, you know, just weird.

Speaker 5:

You know what I mean. So obviously they see something we don't see. So I mean I'm rolling with.

Speaker 3:

I'm rolling with because I feel like, yeah, doc Rivers ain't really won a whole lot per se, but I feel like I don't know I would. I would love for him to have coached like the Lakers, just cause.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, he's a solid. No, he's a solid coach. He's very good with stars and things of that.

Speaker 3:

And, like he, he's what they need to finish the job.

Speaker 2:

I feel like you know, that's subjective though.

Speaker 3:

But yeah, I mean I'm, I would be cool with the hire, but like something definitely had to happen for them to get buddy out of there, like that. I mean there wasn't no rumors, there was no speculation.

Speaker 2:

I just looked at my phone which is rare, like rarely, like usually you hear something.

Speaker 3:

And then ESPN be showing like they be posting. They'll just be like the picture of an ill. Just say breaking news. I thought he died or something. I'm like man. I had to read the caption and see that he was fired. I'm like what.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I had to dive into it a little more. I was like man, it gotta be something in there. But only thing I found was defensive, like that's the only thing that they were mentioning was they was talking about the defense, and then I heard them talking about iron, iron dock rivers. So I was like, well, this is all the information I got, so I'm just going to put it out there. So, but yeah so moving. You said shout out to who.

Speaker 3:

Shout out to him yeah.

Speaker 2:

I mean, yeah, I mean somebody pick him up, I mean being 30 and 13, but with that roster I mean that's not crazy.

Speaker 3:

And then he, like I, don't think they're really getting a maximum out of game either. No, so I don't know. I feel like it was a disagreement between him and philosophies, yeah.

Speaker 4:

And he might have.

Speaker 3:

He might have quit like because it didn't really. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, could have been a parting ways yeah, that's how they say it, when usually when a coach in a team agreed to, they usually parting ways. But moving on, man Miami man, a couple of days ago retired has no jersey jersey after 20 years with the team. This was another one. If you look at other players that they've retired, of course D way Tim Hardaway, shaq, alonzo, morning like, and then you have has them Eventually. They say they're going to retire LeBron James Jersey also.

Speaker 2:

But you look at Haslam and he's like he doesn't have the stats to accolades or any of that. He's the longest tenured. He only think I could really find on. This is like. Everybody in the building loves him as far as what he does as a leader, community wise, he's from there. Like everybody says he's the glue, like when those championship runs, being in the finals, like he was, like he was the one that kind of kept them in it from a mental and mentor standpoint. But I guess to them that's enough for his, his name to be in the rafters when he had a that type of an impact, maybe not on the court but like off the court impact.

Speaker 3:

So yeah, apparently man, Y'all know I am almost I'm a numbers guy and I thought that retiring jerseys was based on athletic before. I never thought I see today where somebody had a retired jersey but wasn't in the Hall of Fame unless like some tragic happen. You know I'm saying like career cut too short. I'm almost kind of with with with boosted Bosch up in there because it's career, if you remember his career, and it kind of soon.

Speaker 2:

So I feel like but I mean for what he did. I mean he was a part of two championship teams like key parts, like we're talking has, oh, okay well, he wasn't a bum, I mean, you know like. I mean Bosch had decent numbers to like, I mean he's been all star, he's been all NBA. So I think Bosch is in the Hall of Fame, or he's had it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, he's headed there. I think that's my narrative, but yeah, I'm just like.

Speaker 5:

Well, I think I feel like they got painted to a corner. I mean been there 20. I mean here's the thing if they would have got rid of him earlier, which he should have been got rid of 10 years ago. Then he was his jersey wouldn't have been in the Hall of Fame, but they, since they kept him so long, he was the cheerleader of the team. Like I said, he's got 15,000 claps. You know me, you know.

Speaker 5:

Team is nasty work, so I mean, but that's the reason why I think you I mean it's Pat Riley pretty much had to, or the team that they pretty much had to make him vice president in a player development too, mm-hmm. So like I said it's something he has.

Speaker 2:

I think we got back with us. There's something with a, with the, with the, with the team that I mean it had to be an impact enough for them to To be like yeah, we, he needs to be remembered in some form or fact again it was the longevity I mean.

Speaker 5:

Like I said, they kept him 20, 20 years. Yeah if they would again, if they would have got rid of them, which they, like I said, which they should have. You know, he wasn't, he wasn't.

Speaker 3:

He was giving nothing on the basketball court can't really speak to what he was doing behind the scenes or the glue to the team.

Speaker 2:

With all that, I have to like I got the, the nothing, the what she called it pulled up the whole. What everybody said, yeah, not a stat. I mean, I already know it's, that's is. But just what the team and everybody was saying about him and why, that's what, that's what I'm saying like everything was just like with him. Being from Miami, with him, you know everything he did behind the scenes. That's what I, that's what I got.

Speaker 3:

That's all cool. I just didn't know that that was the criteria to have her jersey retired.

Speaker 2:

I mean, it's a team, maybe a.

Speaker 3:

Like.

Speaker 5:

Like or it's up to the team. It's up to the team, but then I feel like it puts the NBA or a lot of other teams in a bad position, because it's then like you know, oh well, shit, if I can, you know, play 20 years and ain't one don't do crap, then maybe I can get my return as them.

Speaker 3:

That's what I was telling them, my boy Adrian.

Speaker 3:

I'm not him. I respectfully disagree. Podcast shot to him. We were talking about the earlier in the week and I was just like man, I'm like, well, if they give him a retired jersey for just longevity, then what about the? What about the janitors? What about the ticket? I mean, if we doing it based on longevity, they need to be recognized. So I mean you could have named the practice court, like you don't it has some court Like you could have gave him a plaque. You could have put something inside the arena. You could have named it arena floor. You don't, as I as.

Speaker 3:

I did something. I just feel like a retired jersey should be only for first ballot holofamers. That contributed something to the game of basketball. Nothing more, nothing less.

Speaker 2:

Right, I agree. Like, what do you think about Miami return, you don't? This has some Jersey after 20 years with the team.

Speaker 4:

I Mean I'm not mad at it. First up the holofame is the basketball. It's not the very holofame and this is completely up to the team.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that is my point. Even more this has nothing to do with.

Speaker 4:

I mean, like you said, we don't know what he did or what his impact was on that team or that city outside of outside of numbers. I mean, okay, like you're not open in Pandora's box, I don't think my and other teams are gonna be like oh, I need to give someone so who was a 14 man.

Speaker 2:

Like there's not very many people who go to make 20 years, so those are the guys that made the decision to keep him 20 years like. There was a reason why they kept him 20 years.

Speaker 4:

It had to be something for them Some value somewhere that we can't see, and we only see things in numbers, and I mean I said it's out of time, numbers ain't everything. Stats can lie numbers. Numbers are lies to numbers can be misleading.

Speaker 3:

How many other people have been contributing behind the scenes, the stuff we don't know about, like where they retire Jersey, said I.

Speaker 2:

Mean again.

Speaker 4:

Your janitors and stuff don't have jerseys retired, so I mean Probably brought somewhere like we don't know that you ain't got a bronze mop somewhere with its name.

Speaker 5:

I mean, like what I said, though you right, I mean it's it's not an NBA decision, it's a team decision. I mean it could give you the same thing working for a company. You get Salesman of the month or, you know, employee of the month with the other job might think you worth that, yeah. I mean so it.

Speaker 4:

Every five years they send you something.

Speaker 3:

If you know you ain't getting no employee of the month of you and selling no cars though. So you know that's like. That's like if they retired desk or something, they're gonna be retiring a lot of desk if they were tired. That's the people we sell no cars. So like that's. That's how I'm looking at it, but I don't think I'm mad. I'm a little bit more.

Speaker 2:

I mean he's the franchise all-time rebound leader. I don't know that's. That's about all I got out of this. I mean everybody from Gordon Draguage said you know, hey, he deserves it to Pat Riley. I mean everybody an organization that I'm looking at on earth like it's saying hey, like they donating three seats in the arena to his late father, mother and stepmother. Like Everybody bammal bio, saying hey, he was the glue. Like it ain't about the stats, you know, he's super important. Jamal Orlando's coach, jamal Mosley, saying he wish he could have been there. Toughness and what he means to the league. Like the heat culture, like just everything that's all on everything in his culture. Everybody saying like Nobody, just the highest praises from this, from this article. Hey, he better not catch Paul Pierce walking. I know that.

Speaker 5:

I'm gonna be tired my jersey.

Speaker 2:

I mean oh no, if you got it like that, no.

Speaker 5:

He went to Florida. They love him in Florida.

Speaker 2:

And that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 5:

He from Miami late, yeah, so so there you go, they buy Navy string back, street back. See, that's what I'm saying. Name a street back after him, or something, or I just Feel bad if I was, uh, if I'm the way, even the lines of one like that Yo, so your jersey is next to my jersey, what? Have you done? Bro, hey, wow, okay, that's the Miami heat.

Speaker 2:

I mean sometimes like.

Speaker 3:

I'm like hold on.

Speaker 2:

But if you look at some problems, use Mario. If you look at some teams though like some teams put like executives in there, some teams put GM, some teams put coaches in there, like there's a lot of arenas, there's a lot of random people in the Raptors. That didn't. That has no stats. So I mean.

Speaker 2:

Like I said when, it's up to the team is really, whatever the teams value they place on you and your contribution. You know it could be on and off the court, like you said. Who know he could have been recruiting Uh players, and you know what I mean.

Speaker 3:

And that's very true.

Speaker 2:

You know whatever so um. Moving right along, man, we're gonna jump into the grown man's league in FL. And uh, let's talk about let's start with Jim Harbaugh going to the Chargers Um, not confirmed, but he does have a second interview. I know we've been talking about this for a minute Ever since the Chargers coach got fired, probably um months ago, and Long ago right and Jim Harbaugh possibly leaving, uh, michigan.

Speaker 2:

We've been saying that this has probably been the fit um, but I also heard Pete Carroll is in in the running too, and he's got an interview also with them. So, uh, how do those resumes stack up? I guess that's my question.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, be careful, old man, man, just just like I was talking to somebody I can't remember who it was and we both agree, and like man, he's old guys just got it gone hitting and uh, and it's that like bro, you old just gracefully bow out. Yeah, like you and your 70s bro, bella, check two is just like uh, pop of it is another one like man, it's, it's past your time.

Speaker 5:

Just fine, it's fine, it's fine, sit down like you're, you're great.

Speaker 3:

Everybody appreciates what you've done. Like you kill, you've got championships, you, you've done everything. Just bro, it's your time, it's it's time. Oh, we about to get the tech. That's my bad. Riccarlo just got thrown out of the game. That's crazy. Um yeah, like man, it's these old guys got to chill like it's, just move. Just that's my opinion, just just move around.

Speaker 2:

But what you think. I.

Speaker 4:

Uh, first this this feels real, like Pete Carroll when he left USC just going to the league like, yeah, I did some shit I wasn't supposed to do. I'm a god. Hey, get on a pad here. Uh, real quick, because I mean other than that I don't really see a reason for you. He's a made man in Michigan at this point. You played there, you brought him a championship, you you know how I say with three, four times straight, or three times three, three.

Speaker 3:

you don't add another one, bro, we I corrected myself uh.

Speaker 4:

No, well, that's so different thing. Uh, I used to stream man. I ain't gonna talk about my alma mater. I didn't mean that no, no, no, I'm playing, but it feels like he like I know I got away with something. And Instead of.

Speaker 4:

Let me go ahead and get up out of here, yeah, and go ahead, jump over to this other league, because to me it doesn't. We can make the same amount of money Really. If he wants to that mission, he can get a lifetime contract at this point at Michigan and never have to leave. So why I need, unless you think you did some shit, right?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you got to wait because ultimately, no matter who did it like, it always falls back on the coach. It's so hard to keep it from falling back on the coach and that's the one public guy that everybody knows that they can point a finger at and say, all right, that's who we have to discipline, because if you discipline some ad or something like Nobody cares, nobody knows, you know? I mean it's like, whatever it has to be, the coach has to stand out in front and take the discipline regardless.

Speaker 3:

I mean really, they can really just vacate the wins and the whole football program suffers. They can't do that.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, but whether he's there or not, like they just I mean they may still get punished for it, but um, do we? I mean, does it, does the chargers fit? Do you think he's a good fit there, like just knowing how he coaches, and like I said this, I this would be more towards you just because you know he was with the Niners um, do you think that that fits there?

Speaker 4:

or I think he has everything that he needs, like he definitely is coming into this situation, which was a much better situation than the 90s when we first took us over. So Now he has at least he has the pieces of the defense in place. I mean, you have a quarterback. He is heavy on the running game, so you know he has a couple of running backs there and and Echler, and Is it just in Kelly so Does, is it a good fit? Yes, I think culture issue Would likely be what. I would think it was the last you know a couple of years with on the previous coach. So, and I mean he, he definitely gets buy-in everywhere he's been. You know, when he was with the Niners, huge buy-in with the Michigan got huge buy-in. So I don't see there being an issue from him getting buy-in from the players and San Diego To me was One of the best jobs out. The only other job I would say that might have been better is this like if McCarthy got fired, then that would have been a better game.

Speaker 4:

But yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2:

But I don't see hardball being a Jerry Jones guy.

Speaker 4:

No, I mean yeah, that team from aspect.

Speaker 2:

But when you talk about Dallas, you, you guys start at the top, unfortunately, like what about you, david man? You think this is a good fit?

Speaker 5:

It's, it's up in the air. I mean it's um. I mean the Chargers got the pieces with it, but it just, you know, it just it's up in the air. The NFL is. It's so tough man.

Speaker 5:

It's just so tough. I mean, he can get in there and tank, or he can. It's either. It's always either you get in there and black yeah, kind of figure, this was gonna happen, now I make the playoffs, or whatever or you like wow, I didn't know they were going, man, you know, I mean it's Shoot. They didn't make the playoffs, man, they ain't NFC championship, what so? It's just. You just gotta see it's a toss-up.

Speaker 3:

It's all about how stuff like shake out to like they could just get an easy schedule and I mean, it's just it's too many factors that go into it. Do I think he can do it? Yeah, cuz he's proven that he was nice with the 49ers. I mean he had them, you know where they need to go.

Speaker 5:

He can get in there, he can get in there, and him and Herbert might not get along, or it, yeah, they might not see either. I now Herbert's gone, now he now they looking for another quarterback, or you know, it's a toss-up to me.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and I think also what they're being said like I Think hardballs one of them, guys that His, his accolades and what he's done speak for itself. So you're gonna instantly come into a locker room where guys respect you. I feel like and I don't think that's how it was with the last coach I think that he lost the locker room a year ago. Oh, and in the end you're in the division with with the chiefs. So like that's the standard, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

So In the, in the Broncos coming along, you know, I mean they started playing real good towards the end of the season like, yeah, who knows what the Raiders are gonna be With them getting with them, getting a coach, and they were playing good towards into season two. So like that may again, you know, be one of the toughest divisions and football again, if the Chargers get back on track, because all the other teams seem to be possibly trending up with possibly really good draft picks coming in. So I mean I see him coming in if and, like you said, if he get the buy-in, they got one of the best rosters in that division they can easily compete with with the chiefs.

Speaker 3:

I feel like so yeah both know both of y'all know that I've been calling it for what to you, man, I?

Speaker 2:

Told you at the beginning to say I got off the train. This year I am not on the charges train.

Speaker 3:

And I say that watch when we start this up before next football season.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think the Chargers is gonna be a Right, exactly, it's so hard to just be like nah man, I can't, I can't ride with the Chargers. It's like y'all should be. You should be competing.

Speaker 4:

I will say this for hardball he's done more or less, but you know that's true even if her is gone, like what great quarterback as hardball ever had. That's true, he had Alex Smith and then I mean he made a decision to replace Alex Smith with cap. We're not, you know, nobody considered capital to great QB. He's very well in the system that we ran, but hardball is very well adjusted and it's gonna Tailor his offense towards his towards what he has right, except for the last year he was with San Francisco.

Speaker 4:

We tried to make happen if both ball a little bit more each of them. But look, everybody has a flaw here and there right.

Speaker 2:

No, that's cool. All right, man, let's talk about this. Brock Purdy, slender. Is it warranted? I Don't. You know what. I'm gonna start with you, david. What do you think about Brock Purdy? Cuz I know I, like I used to gonna say what he gotta say. I'm gonna save, like for last, that fact. No, I'm gonna start, I'm gonna start, I'm gonna start with this. So I actually looked up, so I got some. I got some notes on Brock Purdy. I Don't like the fact that he's getting slender. I mean his second year.

Speaker 2:

He's in with the back-to-back NFC championships, including the playoffs. The Niners of 20 and 9. When he plays they're averaging 29.2 points. Top 5 in NFL they're 17 and 3 and average 30 points a game when him, debo and Trent Williams all play. Facts One of the he. One of those losses came in the NFC game when he got knocked out in the first first quarter. This year he's led the NFL in yards per attempt, yards per completion, first down per attempt, passer rating, turtle, epa success rate. He led in QBR. He led in passes versus QBR versus man, qbr versus the blitz QBR when not blitz, qbr when pressure, qbr when not pressure in the pocket in the red zone in the fourth quarter and on third downs and in the game, in the playoff game where he needed to win. On his last drive he passed or rushed for 58 out of the 69 total yards and went for 6-7 up Like that's beast mode to me, and one of those was a drop.

Speaker 2:

Exactly like what? Like I don't know what else this man has to do to not be slander About community.

Speaker 5:

Well, I think I think the problem, I think what Cuz like what you said, it's it's true, but I think my it's one of those things where he ain't, he's not sexy like Pause on this, his game is not. I give us you saying I understand, is not it ain't it ain't, it ain't as pretty as my homes. So, he gets the job done, though If he was the number three pick overall, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Speaker 2:

Exactly, I agree with that. I agree with only because he was one of the last, their last pick in the draft. They didn't expect him to do this. So now they're saying, oh, because you was the last picking draft, you wasn't good enough to be this is a first-round pick. Now. You're only doing this because you're in this system and you have these players, or whatever.

Speaker 3:

Yes, everybody have good teams and one Super Bowl like how many?

Speaker 2:

to play it. Look at a, look at a look at a Justin Herbert, for example, a player with With a great team, we can say they're almost great. They have players at every level. That's top 10, probably, and look what he does.

Speaker 5:

I mean that press card.

Speaker 2:

Same thing, it's a lot of QB's in the league to have better teams that perform way worse this man has. When he's on the field and he finishes a game, the chances of them winning is very high. They're in the 90 percentile. I'll take that over over anybody.

Speaker 3:

What is he like? 23 and five as a starter, or something crazy. He didn't lose it all last year, did he, bro? They're 20 and.

Speaker 2:

Last year yeah, okay, and they've only lost three games where he started to finish, bro.

Speaker 3:

I Think this all kind of started with the Cam Newton kind of comment, where he was naming off the game changers and and then people want to say even cam was saying this well, game changer, it's not a bad, it's not a derogatory.

Speaker 3:

No it's a backhanded compliment, like if. If somebody was to tell me oh, I'm just, you ain't. You ain't an excellent husband and dad, you just kind of like a, you're a house manager, yeah you, you just a family manager type, that's a. That's a backhand slap, right. So for this guy to come out, he beat it, had a franchise lead in passing yards in the season and you, calling him a game manager, like you can say that it don't mean nothing derogatory or it's not a slight, you can say that, but clearly you're saying that there's something between him and these game changers and that's that's crazy. Like there's been a lot of teams, that's that's had good, good teams, you know, in one like and you can't just take that away from the quarterback just cuz he has a good team.

Speaker 2:

Like still got a man and I feel like that's what it did, like everything around him and where he was drafted at, he's like, oh, if it was, nobody else could have done that. And it's like, yeah, I just a good point. I just, I just don't see it. I just don't see why this man.

Speaker 2:

Exactly like you. Just look at these guys and it's like they're playing the hardest position in sports facts. He's playing it at Top five level, like if you in any way you want to compare him to anybody else in the league over these past two years, he is right there with them in every category.

Speaker 3:

And then your guys said what happened against the Ravens? Bro, he lost. Like Joe Burrow lost to the Ravens too. Like does it? Does that mean that he's he's a game manager? Like they lost? Like what? What? Just cuz he lost the game doesn't mean he's any, any less than they finished 12 and 5 Last game.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'm, I'm totally thrown off by like shout out to Cam Newton. I usually mess with a lot of his takes, but I think that's what kind of started this and like I don't know if y'all noticed, that's why I don't really watch too much of like first take and Pardon, interrupt or pardoned, whatever the fuck show is.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I feel like guys like Shannon and Stephen they they be helping push this narrative. Now I listen to they podcast but I don't watch them on air like cuz they be pushing these like like I know we talked about this last week with the whole Dallas Cowboy thing. Dave, let me ask you, do you, do you know a bunch of obnoxious Cowboys fans?

Speaker 5:

Well, my barber is a cowboy, fine, I won't say he's a gnaught shit, but I mean you gotta understand they, they, they love, they love a team. They're loyal to their team. I mean, do they say we gonna win it every year? I mean, hey, if you got, I mean they've had the talent. Just you know.

Speaker 2:

Now I'm they don't have and they don't have to say it, they they're, their owner will yeah.

Speaker 5:

It's, I mean it's there. There are nine billion dollar team you know I mean yeah, I mean the Bengals can win 10 Super Bowls and we still wouldn't even be, we wouldn't have the merchandise like the cowboys. But you know, I always say it's that I'm sorry that. I mean he's. He's Andy Dalton, 2.0 man, just.

Speaker 2:

But it falls Under that. I mean it falls under that same category like we was kind of talking about with with Jim Harbaugh late. Your coach in your quarterback is always gonna take the heat in the NFL. That's it. It begins and ends with your coach in your quarterback. You're not gonna blame GM's, you're not gonna blame owners, you're not gonna blame nobody on the defense. Regardless of how the game shake out, it comes down to your quarterback and your coach.

Speaker 2:

And when we talking about Brock party and you talking about Shanahan, you're looking at them two together. Them two have been unstoppable and I don't care what the system is, I don't care how they play. If he has to throw it 40 times, he's won. If they've had to run it 40 times, he's won. If he had to push the ball down the field, they won. If he had to dump it off short and those swing passes, they've won, like they've won football games. Any which way you can, you can look over over these past two years and I give them nothing but the utmost respect. Like I said, because everybody can't come in and play the QB Precision, there's been number one picks who can't, who ain't made it. There's been you know what I mean like in every round.

Speaker 5:

There's been QB, I'm not gonna do what he had done, but let me ask y'all this though yeah, do y'all really think that Is should be still be just quarterbacks for the?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, who do you get to replacing, though? Because you, you, you get rid of a. Like we said, this is the hardest position in sports. You get rid of him, you, you can't just get rid of somebody, say, okay, cool, we, we we're not getting to where we want to with him, we're gonna get rid of him. We also got you got to have a contingency plan. Who do you replacing with cuz? You got to come with something better, because if not, the like we say at Cowboys, cowboy fans, they're gonna kill you even more.

Speaker 5:

And then, but see, that's the thing, though, like you get, you get okay. So you go back to Tony Romo. You know the only reason why Tony Romo lost his job? Because then that came in, right. What happened? Yeah, but what happened? Okay. So now give, let's give trade lance a shot, though.

Speaker 2:

Okay, but then you already you look at trade Lance, you look at who did he lose his job to Brody? So, like you, once you get, once you find better, you roll with better and then you clean house. For the most part you show him to. This is your team and the Niners have done that. We're brought perty hey look ain't nobody here competing with you. We got somebody who can do what you could do, but this is your team. We go pick up.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, we got.

Speaker 2:

Darno, we got somebody who. Can do what you can do, but he's not gonna take your spot. Trade Lance was the only threat. We gave up a lot to get him here. He was the really the only threat that anybody else was speaking of in the building. Ari Koo, he got to go, yeah, but if you're in, but as as your brother says a lot, availability is the best ability, and so did Roma. Yeah.

Speaker 4:

I'm gonna lose a job because that was better, almost office job, because he was hurt and then it was like we look better with that and that was a completely different. Back to their show now, but I'm actually I'm gonna take this back to 49ers because, yeah, we got to be the first take, or just not at all.

Speaker 2:

We're not getting on the cowboy.

Speaker 4:

Pisses me off about the first loss to the Browns now is. I Think that's honestly what kind of start some of this narrative of you know, if we get down, he, we can't bring us back. He brought us back in that game. He had a bad game. Almost the same exact weather situation right, raining, super hard to drift the ball. Obviously he's not good in the rain. Okay, that's, that's fine. He put us in position when that game we miss a field, we make that field of.

Speaker 4:

This whole narrative of Herdy can't bring us back isn't even a thing, because he's already done it, mm-hmm. So now you know we go in and honestly, there was the Minnesota game. Now he did throw the interception. That was that lost that game, but we were marching down the field then to from behind. However, again, you throw the interception, that's your fault and that was his interception in that in that case. But then when he goes and does what people are saying he can't do, I go and I went again from behind without debug, and the biggest difference I seen from the other games that he lost without Divo and this game was he was not forcing the boss, iu and no mother. Three losses. He was literally stared out at you. The entire game On that last drive was a fire receivers. He hit, yeah oh, all different receivers.

Speaker 4:

Not one receiver caught two balls in that last try, and then you run for nine yards and pick up crucial no first day after that and you would have Connected with kid twice. But kid drops above on second and five. You still go out and connect to Kylie who I mean I know it was, he just got there Friday like he just got on the team Friday and you put it in a bucket to him. Like what else, and they're the past. To Jennings in the middle.

Speaker 2:

If over a line back, there's not ten quarterbacks in the league that can make that pass. In that situation there's not ten.

Speaker 4:

And the thing that has been pissing me off this week the most, and you know it's only been a couple days this week, so I've still got more. Personally while.

Speaker 4:

I'm watching and while I'm doing work I have this stuff on my phone in the background or whatever. But then they start to bring up the Jimmy G comparison and I'm like, nah, he ain't Jimmy. The records are similar. Yes, the best deep ball that Jimmy threw was against the Saints to manual Sanders and Emmanuel Sanders had to turn around, stop and come back and get that ball. Cash fall down. And then Now party is throwing deep balls in a basket.

Speaker 4:

I can take you to the Jags game getting hit, throwing the thing to Kittle. Who caught it? Instri didn't have a stop, like his deep balls are not. I gotta come back and get these. Like he's throwing them down the field on point and that's something that Jimmy and that was the issue with our office with Jimmy when we couldn't get the ball running is that they knew Jimmy was gonna do ten yards and waiting nothing to go over his. You can't tell me the office Doesn't look completely different with the party, because party can't throw the ball downfield with some accuracy, so you've got to watch. So that way now you can go deep and then you get those slants to Dbo and let Dbo take you to the house. It is gonna be a tougher game without Dbo, but I do see that he is not fixated on just one receiver. Now he is looking for, you know, the open man. He's not as Reliant on timing because there was another pass that he threw soon.

Speaker 4:

I want to say it was Kittle. That was an incompletion. There was a timing route. Kittle got bumped off but he's still through the ball at the right time and just Kittle, actually doesn't know, dropped a kid. Oh, I had. He had too many drops in the last game as well. But there's some of this stuff I think we have four drops in the game. Like we're blaming some of this stuff on party. That's not pretty as well.

Speaker 4:

I said that same thing to know buddy in our group chat about the Ravens game. Like three of those interceptions are Great plays by the defense. Like his read was right, they got tipped and they call them. Like how many times is it a tip has not get called? He'll green Bay drop to easy interceptions in the last game. So Sometimes it goes in your way, sometimes it don't, but it cannot be all pretty so and I'm sick and tired of people saying, well, he's just handed the ball off to you see, or he's just throwing a ball to Dbo and I'm like yo. He had 42,000 yards this season. He didn't play the last game Like he's got to be throwing the ball to somebody else. Kittle had a thousand yards, I you can't but 1300. Dbo, although he missed the games, did not have a thousand yards receiving. He had a thousand all-purpose yards because he also runs a song.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, but he did not have a thousand yards received. And Also, any quarterback who has CMC is going to throw that man the ball out of the backfield Like it did. How you get mad at him for doing with every quarterback in the league with. Like you can't be pissed off about that, like he's gonna hand the ball off, he's gonna throw it to him as well. I guess that is what he's supposed to do. Who wouldn't do that? So how you would ask somebody for doing something that literally every other team he's the best player.

Speaker 2:

He's the best offensive player on the team you. He should have 40 touches, demner.

Speaker 3:

Demner, your best offensive player in the league.

Speaker 2:

Like I mean, I just don't get it.

Speaker 3:

You said man.

Speaker 2:

I hear, like I said, I heard I was just today. I was over. That's all I'm gonna do my homework. I'm about to listen to everybody, oh yeah, buddy Like crazy.

Speaker 5:

I noticed this, that you know that, the 49ers man, you remember that with the beginning of the season they had started off. Started off, they were hot, and then, I think, right towards the middle.

Speaker 4:

You know, I can tell you we're five and over. Then we won five and three we lost three.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, you know I'm saying so. It was kind of like that situation to where they they, you know people felt like they, I don't know they go, maybe they they're going up and down and again, just because their game, you know, wasn't the prettiest, you know it wasn't, you know, a Dak Prescott to CD lamb, you know I'm saying, and so, um, I don't think the 40, I think they got a great shot. I think this is probably one of their best shots. So I think Brock Purdy's, he's doing his job and you know, keep it that way. You know shoot. You know, keep saying that.

Speaker 5:

You know that well, I don't think he, you know, I think he's doing a great job. I think they now I wish that Dbo I don't know if you use, I don't think Dbo is playing this weekend right 5050. So but I think, like I said, kiddo, I think you know the rest of them guys, they'll, they'll step up and they got too much firepower man, they got a lot of offense, good defense, joy, both I like him and just you know they got a good shot. I think that's probably one of the best shots.

Speaker 2:

I agree, I agree. And it's like every time purdy don't have a perfect game, like they find a way they start questioning and it's like dude, your favorite quarterback, your favorite quarterback, ain't playing as good as him.

Speaker 4:

He's sometimes on his worst games.

Speaker 2:

Perfect UBR by the way, but like just lead his man alone, like Is he a? Nominally probably. But that press guy was what forefront Shit I think he was drafting the forefront like isn't. Yeah, and then you get. You look at even the top QB, patrick Mahones, wasn't top five. You look at Lamar Jackson wasn't top five. Like a lot of these QBs come along later and they develop later.

Speaker 3:

Like the best almost the best player ever was dinner, seventh round to yeah, looking, brady, you look at.

Speaker 2:

I mean you got your outliers, you got your meanings and you know what I mean.

Speaker 5:

Let me ask you our question, though, about you know, the being the best quarterback in the league, and it won't be long. But don't you guys I mean if the now, unless you're Patrick Mahones Don't you feel like if you look at, if you look at Tom Brady, and then what's, uh, what's, uh, oh, boy love, what's his first name?

Speaker 2:

Jordan love.

Speaker 5:

Jordan love that you had two of these quarterbacks that were on the bench at first and they first at the beginning of their career and you know, and kind of followed the schemes and was watching these two quarterbacks and then look where they are now. Especially, brady, that you think that a lot of these quarterbacks should do that, where if they get drafted, you know, even if they are drafted maybe six or seven, you know, take a backseat, kind of get the know, the yeah, I mean. It's working. Yeah.

Speaker 5:

I think about that. The other day it was just, I feel like a lot of these quarterbacks, I mean they, I mean even Aaron Rodgers, I mean we're Brett Farr, you know what, the starter for the you know first couple season, three, four seasons, and then look at I mean look at him now.

Speaker 2:

So I mean I think Green Bay does have a formula and it's been working. You know what I mean. When you got somebody there, who, who know the position, who went, you, who, you not in a rush to push off, you, you draft the replacement early, you let him sit, you let him learn, and then you can continue this. You got to think they, working on almost 30 years of just great QB play, like it's gonna go on probably for another ten, like easily. You know, um, if Jordan love, you know, stays on this trajectory, but you get a lot of guys.

Speaker 5:

You look at my home.

Speaker 2:

He waited a year. You look at Lamar he had a year. Like you know these. Sometimes these guys just need to sit and see how it's done, you know, to come in and be successful. You know you got your outliers, though you like to say, you have your pay ins, and even his first year was horrible. But then you get a CJ Stroud we you like. Oh wow, this is just crazy. You know what I mean.

Speaker 5:

But we don't have a soft words lump, though, but even if he does like it's still like a okay, we still know what he's capable of.

Speaker 2:

But then you get a guy like you know, murray, who's pushed into the light, who came, who doesn't produce, you know, I mean. But even if you look at, uh, what's old boy in Denver, russell, russell, you know, late round pick Comes along, boom. Does this thing so like maybe sitting quarterbacks is the way to go?

Speaker 4:

You know, unless you really Russell started.

Speaker 2:

Well, I mean, I mean, well, I guess not sitting on, but late draft picks also.

Speaker 1:

So just that combination of eight draft picks and Sitting quarterbacks.

Speaker 2:

You know what I mean.

Speaker 4:

Like that was Matt Flynn's dream job that he got from his, from Green Bay, and he almost a hundred million or something, crazy he got a good amount of money they year and Rogers was out and he played good and they ended up.

Speaker 2:

Seahawks ended up grabbing me, man. He got a gang of money to sign with them and bummed out like so it's just. And then I fell and when it come to QB's, man, it's, it's like you said Uh, david, it's, it's up and down. Man, that's a rollercoaster. You never know when you're gonna hit, but who's gonna be the guy who ain't, you know? Right now you look at Carolina. They looking like like they made the wrong pic. Well so, but who knows? All right, man, let's get off this man. We've been talking about this forever. Let's talk about this championship game coming on. Man, whoo, all right. So we got the chiefs and Ravens on Sunday at three, and then we got the Lions and Niners at 630. This is this chase raving.

Speaker 5:

You think so. I feel like this game is gonna be just like that game the chiefs in the 2021? Was it divisional? It was a divisional that year. Biggles went to football. I see something like that. I can see overtime. I Got the, I got the chiefs winning Okay I feel like if it's a shootout, it's definitely.

Speaker 5:

I just think, experience in this man has been there six times. Now Don't get me wrong. I mean, lamar, he's a, he's they out there hooping, but and I know that that defense is gonna they gonna be hungry too. But I mean, when you got a man that's been there six times, I mean that's. You know it's hard to be, it's hard to gamble on that, but I think it's, I think it will be a close game and I, I would say 34, 31 cheese.

Speaker 2:

Hmm, I like what you think me. You got a shout out to you, man Justin, on this man. You got something you want to say to. Oh, you're gonna dress him every show until you got.

Speaker 4:

You see my name, Justin pick, and see how. Oh yeah, well, and the cheese Ray was game. So my head picks the cheaps. My stubbornness and the fact that I said Raven's nine is super bold to start to seize it, and I'm really close to being right. I'm going to pick the Ravens. But also, I mean, if there's any team who can beat Mahomes like the Ravens have literally almost put the brakes on every good team that they play this year and I think I said this last week like they're by far the most battle-tested team that's remaining in the playoffs. So there's a team whose defense could stifle Mahomes enough, and I mean the Chiefs have a good defense, but I don't think the good defense is good enough to stop the Ravens. You know, I can convince myself, my head, even though my head is saying the Chiefs. I can convince my head that the Ravens are good picks. I'm picking the Ravens mostly just because I want to be right. So I'm going to do that, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Chiefs were right.

Speaker 2:

Okay, what about you, jeri man, what you think?

Speaker 3:

I feel like this game can go either way. I feel like both defenses are playing well, both offenses obviously have it rolling. I feel like both teams could play a shootout or a low-sport game, and I can see either one coming out on either side of either kind of game. So if I had to pick, I mean I really just don't know. I'm kind of with Dave. You got the Ravens that look good right now. They're the glamour. They're glitz and glamour because, like I said, they put the pause on pretty much everybody that mattered in the field of season. So you got the glitz and glamour, but then you got the steady and constant. I just I don't know, but if I had to guess, give me 28-24 Chiefs, 28-24 Chiefs.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, man, I'm in the same boat with all y'all. Man, it's like I kind of want to see Lamar win, of course.

Speaker 3:

I'm rooting, I'm rooting I just feel that way.

Speaker 2:

You know what I mean. But it's hard for me to bet against my homeboy Like he's been there, like I don't think anything the Ravens can do that he ain't seen. Like you know, he done battled with Tom Brady. He done battled with with Burl. He done battled with Allen. He done battled with, like he done been through it all. Like in this short tenure.

Speaker 3:

Sean Watson in that season.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, he done. Battled back, he done, he done. Been in every situation you can possibly put in, and even this year with this, is probably the worst looking Chiefs team we done seen and he's still in the AMC championships.

Speaker 5:

So it's like they're not supposed to be this far.

Speaker 2:

Everybody said it Like this wasn't the year for the Chiefs. Like they you know, and then I'm seeing also.

Speaker 5:

I'm not bad. I was aiming to cut Charlotte. But my thing was. I wanted to say this I feel like they got a lot of. They got a chip on the shoulder. You know what I mean.

Speaker 5:

They've been talking about. Well, you know, this is the first time they play in the playoffs and it's not at Arrowhead and they can't win. And you know the mistakes, the drop balls, and you know, and they know that my homes they watching that, they hear that. So I think they got a lot. They got something to prove. You know what I mean, and I saw a good team needs is give them something to say okay rally around and fight for it.

Speaker 5:

Oh, we watch we, you know, we went to the bills. We drop a dime on there. We beat them. Now we're about to go to the Ravens and we're going to do the same thing. That's what. That's my mindset.

Speaker 3:

And let me throw this here real quick man, the bills got to stop trying to blame that kicker bro. They lost that game when they didn't score a touchdown. Like you get to get Pat Mahomes a minute damn, they're two minutes with two timeouts. Bro, he's getting in field. Go rounds. I stopped. Yeah, so that game was that. Game was over when they lined up for the kick, not when he missed it. Game was over when they failed score touchdown. That's right.

Speaker 2:

There is no way to get it you got it, you got your points.

Speaker 4:

The bills the bills are the bills Excellent field.

Speaker 3:

Go kicker to break there and when that game like there's no way that the chiefs win that game, even if he makes that kick.

Speaker 2:

So they got the bills or the bills, and they've been the bills and they're going to continue to be the bills and there's nothing I can see in the foreseeable future just going to change them from being who we've seen them to be over the past three years. Hey, look at Josh Allen. Everything that man did to win the game, he still ended up losing, like Josh Allen. It's not a Josh Allen problem. We're not going to blame this on Josh Allen.

Speaker 2:

Like I've been hearing like back and forth if you want to blame the kicker, people want to blame Josh Allen. It's not Josh Allen's fault. I'm going to say that and I'm not even a fan of Josh Allen, but it wasn't his fault. The defense let him down. The defense often does.

Speaker 3:

He definitely should have hit digs across the middle.

Speaker 2:

What about?

Speaker 3:

the ball did drop, it went right through the corner, Sure did Digs wide open. You got to go back.

Speaker 2:

Digs play a part in this too. Like I said, like it's not on, josh Allen did everything that Josh Allen could do. Josh Allen also hit a lot of the problems with the bills, also with his running game. The offense is not good, they're not that good they're not that good, and if you can contain Josh Allen from running, putting the ball in the air is not the best thing that they do.

Speaker 5:

To be biased or anything like that. I knew the bills weren't that good. The Bengals came in there and beat them in their home they're not that good.

Speaker 3:

People think we were just not bro. Every time the bills go against a top AFC team.

Speaker 2:

They lose Every time. They can't beat the chiefs. They can't. They can't beat the B if you can't beat them to teams.

Speaker 2:

They have the same thing. If you can't beat the top, you're there, You're a top five team on paper. To beat the man, you got to beat the man. He ain't beat none of them. But anyway, man, I'm in the same position. Like I said, I want the Ravens to win, but I think the chiefs will win. So I'm picking the chiefs, but if the Ravens win, I'll be just as happy. Nfc we got Lions. Niners I'm on Niners. I'm on Niners. I'm on Niners by a lot.

Speaker 2:

Niners by a lot, I think, and I'm with you, I think the Lions Do I need to say anything here? Yes, absolutely no.

Speaker 4:

No, I don't have words. I would say do I need to speak on who I'm picking? No, no, you don't need to. We already know. We already know.

Speaker 5:

I think it's going to look. I think it's going to be a good game. I mean, I like that coach. I think the first half will be close, but I think in the second half it's a wrap.

Speaker 4:

Hey, that's a good, perfect for Detroit. I do think that if he rolls out, it's going to make it tougher.

Speaker 5:

They're going to put up a fight.

Speaker 4:

Isaac, I think I really do think, yeah, yeah, I have a good sense.

Speaker 5:

The first half is going to be close, but the second half.

Speaker 3:

I think though, yeah, yeah, I know it was crazy, though their story is kind of like ours, like when we went to the Super Bowl a couple years back hadn't won a playoff game in 30-some years. Didn't think Nobody thought we were going to go in the arrowhead and beat the Chiefs in the AFC championship. No, but no. Actually I think a couple of people might have picked that. I would say the majority didn't.

Speaker 3:

The majority didn't think that we I didn't think we were going to win we weren't in the favorites the whole play. Yeah, I didn't think we were going to win that shit, so this could be fuck around and be a situation like that, but now I still got 493.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm picking the Niners Outside of a complete meltdown by the Niners. The Lions may pull it off, but I think the Niners is outside of the Lions Cinderella story, if you want to call it that. Like the Niners really got something to prove and they've been showing that they have something to prove. I think after last year and everything that went on, they ain't having it. This year. They're going to try to put their foot on the throats of anybody who get in their way of a championship this year.

Speaker 4:

So we got to get the golf done.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's that part. Chase Young has been non-existent. I think him and Bolsa they got. They got to squeeze the pocket on God, Because if you get golf shook, he's shown that he's going to. And somebody got you got to lock up St Brown, you got to lock him, that dude is ridiculous. You cannot let him get the ball He'll have water with him.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, and you know, give and watch Gibbs at the background, at the background, at the backfield. I think those are your two keys right there Get the golf, stop Gibbs and stop St Brown and Niners are being a great position in which they're going to. We already talked about the offense. We're pretty sure the offense is going to execute. So yeah, but all right, man, I think that's it. Man, we have some final thoughts.

Speaker 3:

Man, what the fuck is going on with Tristan Thompson?

Speaker 2:

Wow bro. That's crazy. I don't know man.

Speaker 3:

You're wild. That's crazy, that's fucking nuts.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, David, any final thoughts? Man? This is where we just kind of say whatever random stuff that's been on.

Speaker 5:

Well, you know we've there's been some NBA trades. I love what the pace of that past LC outcome trade Do you not think it was too much?

Speaker 2:

Are you dealing with three first rounds. I'm not as a pace of fan. I am not.

Speaker 5:

They trying to win bro.

Speaker 3:

I still got a finding back. That doesn't make my whole issue with it was if it's a trade that makes them better or the front runner cool. Fuck them draft picks. But are they better than the Boston Celtics? No, are they better than? Are they going to beat the buck? Will they beat the bucks in the seven game series? I don't think so. Would they beat Philly in the seven game series? I'm not too sure. Would they even beat the heat in the seven game series?

Speaker 2:

I'm not sure, even with, especially now with Terry Rose year now, yeah.

Speaker 3:

So that's, that's my whole issue with thing. And then of course, people say oh, you hate me. I'm not hating, but it's just like it didn't really move. The needle Does it put you over the hump.

Speaker 2:

Does that put you in the upper echelon of the Eastern? I don't think it did.

Speaker 3:

I don't think it does either I mean still worse than three team, at best fourth Like, like that's that's my only thing.

Speaker 2:

I'm four, I say six.

Speaker 3:

I mean that's why I'm saying that best there's clear three teams for sure. That's better. In them Could be five or six.

Speaker 5:

I don't know, I just I don't know y'all, I don't know man, I think that's better. You think they're better than Celtic, sir? I think they might. I think they're just. I think they might be equal for the service, yeah, man. I mean because I mean yes.

Speaker 2:

I did.

Speaker 3:

Hmm, okay, that's a wild take, but all right, we'll see that's. That's a wild.

Speaker 2:

I mean we got a half for the season.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I think there's got to be in order to do that. That's that part.

Speaker 3:

They might get one game.

Speaker 2:

You get rid of your one of your best defend on ball defenders to bring in another score. You are ready to top score league. Top scoring team in the league.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Now you bring in another 20 point score First off, he probably not going to be averaging 20. How much is it like? 12, I think maybe, and what you need in the playoffs.

Speaker 5:

I mean you need defense, but I mean, I mean I don't think that. I don't think the Boston Celtics got, I mean because they lost smart. So I mean I don't think they.

Speaker 3:

Have you seen their roster, bro? They got, they got uh, they got uh. Drew Holiday. They're true, they traded off. They basically traded off Grant Williams and Marcus. Smart for Chris, top scores ingus and drew holiday, bro. Come on man, boston is hard. They've lost one home game all year.

Speaker 4:

Like I don't know it's gonna be like it's different, but I mean.

Speaker 3:

You're right on that, but I feel like that's even more in favor of Boston. I feel like they're going to be even better. Come up seven game series and I think I think the Pacers are probably gonna max out. The Pacers is a great Regular season team. They can beat anybody any night hell. They're only down by two against Denver right now, like right now in life, but do I think they have a? They stand a Chance against Denver in the seven game series come on.

Speaker 3:

There's no way and I think that's just the same thing for some of these Eastern Conference teams. Like the Pacers are definitely playing well above. Uh, you know what they should do, but, like you said, the regular season is a faster game that, uh, when it, when it comes to the postseason, everything slows down. There's just no way that we're gonna get this same Pacers output in the playoffs and I said if you look at the.

Speaker 3:

I've been wrong before, I could be wrong now and I'm gonna be wrong some more in the future, but I just don't see it.

Speaker 2:

I think if you look at the bubble, not the bubble the n-season tournament, and you see how, like the Lakers, slowed things down with them, yeah and the Pacers in the half quarter.

Speaker 2:

Just they're running gun, bro, and I'm not saying that's a bad thing and maybe, see, I come can help them with that. You know what I mean, but like, at some point you got to stop people. Um, I don't know. Like I said, I'm a, I'm a fan, I don't. I don't agree with the trade, I never agree. Three first round picks, that's like getting a Uh uh the ramp or yeah like that's that in that realm of player, um.

Speaker 2:

But I mean Hopefully it pays off and hopefully you can pay him, because If not you just rented him for a couple months. If he just decides he wants to test the free agent market.

Speaker 3:

If he's on the team now, they can pay him now. Does he want to come back?

Speaker 2:

That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying, like, if he make a decision like not to stay now, you just gave a three first round picks for a rental tough. And if you don't make it to the eastern? Conference finals or something like that. Then Now you just now you just wasted.

Speaker 3:

I don't think it pushed the needle far, far, far enough for all that. But yeah, you're the first Pacers fan. That's actually like being realistic with it. All the other ones, I come past this. Oh yeah, man, this is this. Is it like all right?

Speaker 2:

I mean you give up two players and three Just him. I don't, I don't see him as that dude.

Speaker 3:

No, because that championship was quiet like that's not, that's not, that's not, kid anybody, so it's not. Like I mean, I know he's a champion, but he wasn't that. He wasn't the guy on that team that was definitely close to him.

Speaker 2:

Now we got og and him. I've been like okay, cool, oh yeah, we got, we got, we got, we got two potential Cool, yeah, yeah just one. No pace has got duped. Damn, I'm being straight up. Got you All right, man, that it anybody else. Any more final thoughts? Anybody you?

Speaker 5:

you, you, you. Well, we'll just keep watching the uh trade deadline. I mean because I think that's what might happen. Bruce Brown, think the Lakers and who is it Lakers? And mix trying to try to get him so I can say he's a good defender and these teams need defense Both teams both of them.

Speaker 2:

Teams definitely need defense, lakers definitely need a whole lot of defense.

Speaker 3:

They need niggas. I don't care what position, they need a lot of focus on the big team. I'm gonna just go ahead and shut up now because I'd have y'all here another half hour 45 minutes. I'm just gone. We'll say that for another episode.

Speaker 5:

Save winners.

Speaker 2:

All right, y'all, will this been that epic podcast, man? We see y'all again next week, man.

Speaker 3:

Is there.
